Some Regions Of The Republic Of Indonesia Are Forecasted For Light Rain This Monday

JAKARTA - It is estimated that this Monday will have the potential for light rain in a number of major cities, such as Medan, Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar, and Jayapura.

In a statement from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) quoted in Jakarta, Monday, BMKG weather forecaster Zhenny Husna stated that for Sumatra Island, it is estimated that it is thick cloudy in Banda Aceh and Pekanbaru, light rain in Medan City, Tanjung Pinang, Jambi, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, Bandar Lampung, as well as moderate rain in Padang City.

"Be aware of rain accompanied by lightning in Bengkulu City," said Zhenny, as reported by ANTARA.

For Java Island, he said, it is estimated that it is thick cloudy in the city of Yogyakarta, light rain in the cities of Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, and Serang.

He also reminded to be aware of rain accompanied by lightning in the city of Bandung.

As for the islands of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, he said, there is the potential for light rain in Denpasar and Kupang cities, as well as rain accompanied by lightning in Mataram City.

"For Kalimantan Island, light rain is forecast in Pontianak City, Banjarmasin and Tanjung Selor, and be aware of rain accompanied by lightning in Palangka Raya City and Samarinda," he said.

Meanwhile, on the island of Sulawesi, he said, in general light rain in Makassar, Mamuju, Palu, Gorontalo, Manado, and Kendari cities.

For eastern Indonesia, he said, light rain is expected in the cities of Ambon, Ternate, Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, Jayawijaya, and Jayapura, as well as moderate rain in Merauke City.
