PT KAI Records 157 Million Passengers Using Train Services During January-April 2025

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Group noted that it has served 157,161,247 rail transportation users during the period January to April 2025.

"Throughout January to April 2025, KAI Group recorded a total of 157,161,247 customers, an increase of 9.01 percent compared to the same period the previous year of 144,173,430 customers," said KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Sunday, May 12.

He said the number consisted of KAI Induk as many as 17,709,671 users, KAI Commuter 125,818,020 users, KAI Bandara 1,745,766 users, KAI Wisata 58,636 users.

Furthermore, the Jabodebek LRT 8,434,674 users, telephone (KCIC) 1,852,555 users, South Sumatra LRT 1,462,303 users, and Makassar Train "Parepare 79,622 users.

Anne said that this achievement was not just a number, but reflected the wider use of rail-based transportation for people's daily lives, ranging from workers with Commuter Line, travelers who like to travel, to logistics business actors who depend on intercity and intermodal connectivity.

"KAI is here to answer the needs of community mobility from various backgrounds. This growth rate confirms that train services are increasingly believed to be a safe, fast, and equitable transportation solution," said Anne.

Furthermore, he said the KAI Group as a whole recorded a growth of 9.01 percent, up from 144.1 million subscribers to 157.1 million subscribers.

Anne said that this figure shows a positive trend that is evenly distributed in various service segments, as well as proof of the company's commitment to providing inclusive and reliable transportation.

According to him, due to the increasing movement of customers on various KAI Group services, the positive impact is not only felt on the rail line, but also on the points visited.

"From large stations to remote areas, because every trip is carried out carrying activities, opening space for interaction, and flowing benefits to the surrounding environment," he explained.

He added that KAI Group continues to strengthen its role in connecting society not only geographically, but also in building a more productive and empowered life.
