Jack Della Maddalena UFC Welterweight Champion After Defeating Muhammad's Belal
JAKARTA - Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Jack Della Maddalena won the UFC welterweight title after defeating Belal Muhammad in the UFC 315 main match in Montreal, Canada, Sunday WIB.
"This is exactly what I think I will feel. It feels really great," said Jack Della Maddalena after becoming the new welterweight champion for the UFC, according to a report on the MMA Fighting page monitored in Jakarta.
The Australian fighter pointed out that his experience for more than a year outside the arena had given him time to be better as he rained down the Belals with a crackdown.
On the other hand, Belal continued to defend in his best way and returned to attack with all the abilities he had in a five-round fight.
The difference lies in the amount of damage Maddalena could produce to secure victory through the jury's decision, where the judges scored 48-47, 48-47, and 49-46 for their victory.
"I knew I had to be smarter to stand up. I should have been sharper with my punches."

Maddalena realized that fighting someone like Belal with bottom wrestling techniques forced her to look smart. He considered himself to be superior, even though Belal was a tough guy.
While it wasn't the result Belal wanted, he was involved in an extraordinary match, but in the end he couldn't keep up with Maddalena's stunting capabilities.
This was clearly evident from Maddalena, when she attacked a slippery bodycap, in which Belal hit back with a right overhand right on target and landed in the jaw of his opponent.
After exchanging hard attacks on the feet, including a knee attack that opened up Belal's face, the world champion managed to secure his cleanest takedown in the match. Unfortunately, Belal was unable to do anything and Maddalena was able to get back on his feet.
Maddalena performed outstanding but her celebration did not last long as she had learned that the next challenge would almost certainly come from the ruler of the UFC lightweight division (70.3 kg), Islam Makhachev, who would move up to thewelter division, after his friend and team-mate no longer won.
"I think this is a beautiful challenge. He (Islam Makhachev) is the world's number one athlete. I will get him back to (repay the defeat) Alexander Volkanovski," he said.
