Blind Jealousy, Men In Bekasi Abuse Their Own Friends To Critical

JAKARTA - A man has the heart to persecute his own friend to the critical point in Bekasi Regency, West Java. The violence was motivated by deep jealousy, because the victim was known to be the husband of the woman who was loved by the perpetrator.

The Sub-Directorate of Mobile Investigation (Resmob) of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police revealed that the suspect with the initials R (47) abused the victim with the initials S because he was hurt.

"The perpetrator's motive is a love affair, where he feels eliminated because the woman he likes chooses the victim as a life partner," said AKBP Resa F. Marasabessy in Jakarta, as quoted by ANTARA.

Feeling filled with jealousy, the perpetrator then looked for the victim's whereabouts and prepared a sharp weapon in the form of a knife with the aim of killing her life. The perpetrator was finally arrested on Friday, May 9 at around 04.00 WIB in an alley in the Kebalen area, Babelan, Bekasi Regency.

During the arrest, the police confiscated a number of evidences, including a cell phone, a knife, and a motorcycle belonging to the victim.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 340 in conjunction with Article 53 of the Criminal Code, as well as Article 355 paragraph (1) and/or Article 351 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code which regulates the attempted murder, severe persecution, and persecution that causes serious injuries.

The incident occurred on Thursday night (8/5) on Jalan Raya Kebalen. The victim was found in critical condition and rushed to Teluk Pucung Hospital, Bekasi City. The Bekasi Metro Police Chief, AKBP Mustofa stated that his party received a report from the hospital at around 22.05 WIB, and immediately followed up by visiting the location and examining the victim.

"From the victim's statement, at around 21.00 WIB, the perpetrator asked to be escorted home. But while on the way, the perpetrator attacked the victim from behind by slashing a sharp weapon into the neck and stabbing the victim's stomach twice," explained Mustofa.
