Following Up On The President's Directives, The Attorney General's Office Will Take Strict Action On Thugs At The Prosecution Stage
The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has stated that it will take firm action against all acts of thuggery that harm the community, especially at the prosecution stage.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Attorney General's Office, Harli Siregar in response to the direction from President Prabowo Subianto regarding the handling of community organizations (ormas) which were considered disturbing public order and disturbing the business climate.
"In terms of repression, the Prosecutor's Office as the public prosecutor will take firm action against violations and criminal acts committed by perpetrators that disturb public order," Harli told reporters, Saturday, May 10.
Meanwhile, in terms of prevention, the AGO will cooperate with the National Police to socialize coaching. Thus, it can increase legal awareness of all actions committed.
Not only with the National Police, but the Adhiyaksa Corps will also cooperate with community leaders to youth leaders at the prevention stage.
"Because the task and function of the Prosecutor's Office, one of which is to create public order, the Prosecutor's Office with intelligence instruments together with the National Police and the Kesbangpol as well as community leaders, religious leaders, and youth leaders will continue to disseminate and develop information to increase legal awareness," said Harli.
Previously it was reported, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that the government, including President Prabowo Subianto, was worried about acts of thuggery on behalf of community organizations (ormas) so as to create a less conducive climate among entrepreneurs.
"Frankly, we also feel the anxiety because thuggery should not be carried out, let alone wrapped in certain organizations on behalf of community organizations, but instead not create a conducive corporate climate. So, Mr. President, the government, is really restless," said Prasetyo.

The government is known to have formed an Integrated Task Force for the Handling of Thugs and Community Organizations (Ormas) Relieved on Tuesday 6 May, in order to deal with various activities that disrupt public order and hinder the investment climate.
Prasetyo explained that due to the perceived unrest, President Prabowo coordinated with the Attorney General and the National Police Chief to find a way out, including guidance on mass organizations so as not to disrupt the business climate and public order.
If criminal acts are found, the government will certainly evaluate and will not hesitate to impose sanctions.
"Especially if up to the level of the crime, it is considered that it cannot be tolerated, it does not rule out the possibility as well. We must evaluate it," said Prasetyo.
