Antam Proposes Revision Of RKAB, Asks For Up To 21 Million Nickel Production

JAKARTA - PT Aneka Tambang (ANTAM) has proposed an additional quota of Work Plans and Budget (RKAB) for nickel and bauxite commodities for 2025. Director of Finance and Risk Management, Arianto Sabtonugroho Rudidjito, said that the RKAB application had been submitted to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).

"So we are also proposing an increase in quota for nickel permits to increase to 21 million tons. However, when will we receive this, we cannot know at this time," said Arianto, quoted on Saturday, May 10.

As for the RKAB for bauxite commodities, the proposed quota increase is 5 million wet metric tons (wmt). Meanwhile, RKAB which has been approved by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in 2025 for nickel and bauxite commodities amounted to 16.9 million wmt and 3.5 million wmt, respectively.

"At the beginning of the year we had obtained an RKAB permit to produce 16.9 million wmt of nickel, while for the bauxite it was around 3.5 million wmt," continued Arianto.

After the RKAB permit was approved, he continued, Ant had started production since January 2025 in accordance with the plan that had been determined by the company.

"In addition, at this time our production is also on target to meet or produce, the quota for RKAB permits that we received," explained Arianto.

For information, Antam's ferronickel production in the first quarter of 2025 was recorded at 4,498 tons of nickel in feronikel (TNi), while sales volume reached 4,839 TNi. nickel ore production also increased drastically by 221 percent to 4,63 million wet metric tons (wmt), in line with nickel ore sales growth of 281 percent to 3.83 million wmt.

Meanwhile, bauxite and alumina commodities recorded sales of IDR 708.75 billion, up 102 percent compared to the first quarter of last year. Bauxite ore production increased 328 percent to 653,781 wmt, and alumina sales reached 44,048 tons, growing 4 percent on an annual basis.
