Bareskrim Arrests Two Suspects Of Child Pornographic Content Sales Network Via Telegram

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri uncovered a case of circulating pornographic content involving children through Telegram social media. In this case, two people were named as suspects.

Head of the Online Child Pornography Task Force at the Directorate of Cyber Crime, Bareskrim Polri, Kombes Jeffri Dian said the two suspects had the initials MM and D. They are the managers of Telegram accounts that sell pornographic content.

"We will not give space for perpetrators of sexual crimes against children in the digital realm," Jeffri said in his statement, Saturday, May 10.

Named, for the suspect MM was arrested in Barabai, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, South Kalimantan, March 2025. A total of 12 Telegram groups are managed by suspects with hundreds of members in each group.

Through the Telegram account @asupan_croot and @asupan_croot01, the suspect sold access to the group at a rate of IDR 25,000 to IDR 100,000 per member.

From the arrest of the suspect, investigators confiscated two cellphones and a laptop containing thousands of pornographic photos and videos of same-sex children.

Meanwhile, F was arrested in Sidenreng Rappang (SIDRAP) Regency, South Sulawesi. The suspect sold access to a Telegram group and channel called @Tmexx Store and @BKPIND, which has tens of thousands of subscribers.

The price of access to the group offered by the suspect varies from Rp. 49,000 to Rp. 299,000. From the search, investigators confiscated three cellphones that held thousands of child pornography and adult content.

"The spread of this kind of content is very damaging and hurts the future of the nation's generation. We will continue to pursue these kinds of networks to their roots," said Jeffri.

The two suspects are now detained at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police and charged with Article 45 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 27 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning the Second Amendment to the ITE Law and/or Article 29 in conjunction with Article 4 Paragraph (1) and/or Article 37 in conjunction with Article 11 of Law Number 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography. The criminal threat reaches 12 years in prison and a maximum fine of IDR 6 billion.
