Sun Energy And PT Bekasi Power Establish Exclusive Cooperation In PLTS Development

JAKARTA - SUN Energy and its subsidiaries PT Jababeka Tbk (KIJA), PT Bekasi Power (BP) have officially carried out strategic cooperation to support the development of industrial estates with an eco-industrial park concept that is environmentally friendly and sustainable.

This collaboration is exclusive and includes the development of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) system for industrial areas whose electricity supply is within the scope of PT Bekasi Power's service.

Meanwhile, through the development of the PLTS project, this collaboration supports reducing carbon emissions in the industrial sector and is in line with the 23 percent EBT mix target by 2030 and Indonesia's vision towards net zero emissions by 2060 and this initiative also strengthens Bekasi Power's role in supporting the achievement of the Jababeka Net Zero cluster.

President Director of SUN Energy Emmanuel Jefferson Kuesar conveyed this collaboration affirming the commitment of SUN Energy and PT Bekasi Power in encouraging the concept of Eco Industrial Park (EIP) which balances industrial growth with environmental sustainability.

Jefferson said one of the coverages of this collaboration stated that SUN Energy will design, build, and manage the PLTS system for tenants connected to the PT Bekasi Power power grid.

One of the industrial tenants in the area, PT Dharma Precision Parts, has adopted the Roof PLTS with the SUN group as a step towards environmentally friendly operations.

"This partnership is a strategic step in encouraging the transformation of industrial estates to become a sustainable center of growth," he explained in his statement, Friday, May 9.

Jefferson said SUN Energy sees great potential in the industrial sector to be the main driver of the national energy transition.

According to him, through this collaboration, his party not only presents solar energy solutions, but also strengthens a cleaner and more resilient energy ecosystem in the future.

Meanwhile, SUN Energy Chief Sales Officer Oky Gunawan added that SUN Energy continues to strengthen its position as a solar energy developer in Indonesia by establishing partnerships and providing solutions for the industrial sector in meeting energy needs in a more efficient and environmentally friendly way.

"Currently, more and more customers and business partners are demanding low-emission operational practices, including the use of renewable energy such as PLTS," he explained.

He conveyed that by adopting the solar energy system, industry players can reduce operational costs, as well as increase the company's competitiveness and reputation in the domestic and global market.

Oky said that his party will continue to expand strategic partnerships with industry, commercial, and industrial estate managers in various parts of Indonesia.

According to him, with a flexible and oriented approach to the needs of each region, SUN Energy is optimistic that it can accelerate the sustainable energy transition in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Bekasi Power Jony Oktavian Haryanto explained that his party saw this partnership as a strategic step to encourage the use of renewable energy in industrial areas.

"As a utility company responsible for energy supply in the Jababeka industrial area, we are determined to support the realization of the Jababeka Net Zero cluster, together with our partners. In addition, this step is also one method to achieve the green energy target in Jababeka tenants," he added.

Meanwhile, the Operational Director of PT Bekasi Power Djefri Cantono added that this initiative is not only a matter of saving, but also a real contribution in encouraging more environmentally friendly industries.

He conveyed that his party plays an important role in providing reliable and sustainable energy, as well as supporting Indonesia's target of reducing carbon emissions according to its commitment to the Paris Agreement and Net Zero Emissions 2060.

"With this collaboration, we open the door for Jababeka tenants who want to carry out energy transformation, such as the construction of the Roof Solar Power Plant (Syara Power Plant)," he explained.
