PGN Explores Potential Utilization Of Tungkal WK To Increase Natural Gas Supply

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) signed a memorandum of understanding with MontD'or Oil Tungkal Limited (MOTL) to explore the potential for natural gas from Tungkal WK.

PGN Commercial Director Ratih Esti Prihatini said the signing of the MoU was an effort by the company to strengthen the availability of natural gas supply for customers in all sectors. The estimated potential volume that can be managed from Tungkal WK is around 3 to 8 MMSCFD.

PGN is interested in absorbing natural gas from Tungkal WK as an effort to strengthen gas supply for customers. The location of the Tungkal WK located in Jambi (Central Sumatra Regency) allows it to be integrated with PGN's existing infrastructure that stretches across the island of Sumatra," said Ratih, Friday, May 9.

He said that gas distribution schemes such as technical details, commercial and other actions would be further coordinated in accordance with applicable legal provisions.

Ratih added, PGN emphasized its commitment to be active in strengthening domestic natural gas supply, by bringing in supplies from various pipeline and non-pipeline gas sources in the form of LNG.

"This step is taken in order to ensure that the sustainability of natural gas supply is maintained, especially to support the competitiveness of the national industry," he said.
