Harley-Davidson Launches Fat Boy Gray Ghost 2025, Celebrates 35 Years Of Legendary Icon

JAKARTA - Harley-Davidson has revived the legend! Carrying the theme "Born a legend. Back to Raise Hell.", this iconic motorcycle manufacturer has just introduced Fat Boy Gray Ghost 2025, a tribute to the legacy of the 35-year-old Fat Boy model.

Launching the manufacturer's page, Friday, May 9, the story of Fat Boy began in 1988 and 1989, when Willie G. Davidson drove the initial prototype into Myrs to get direct input from motorists. This move turned out to be the forerunner of the birth of a legend who crossed generations. 1990 witnessed Fat Boy's birth, which quickly transformed into one of the most iconic models in Harley-Davidson's history.

Now, after 35 years have passed, Fat Boy Gray Ghost 2025 is here to continue the legacy. Inspired by the riders who made it an icon, this latest model not only respects the past, but is also ready to burn the spirits of the next generation.

The limited edition, which is priced at US$25,339 (equivalent to Rp420 million), has received various significant updates, especially in the kitchen runway sector. Fat Boy Gray Ghost is now carrying the Milwaukee-Eight 117 Custom engine, capable of producing around 101 cellphones and peak torques reaching 122 lb-ft. This figure shows an increase of about seven percent in power and three percent in torque compared to the Fat Boy 114 model in 2024.

The machine used is actually the same as the 2025 Fat Boy model, as well as other technical components. However, what makes Fat Boy Gray Ghost even more exclusive is the very limited number, only 1990 units worldwide.

"The original Fat Boy Model took a look, proportion, and a Hydra-Glide silhouette in 1949 and fully modernized it for the new generation of riders," said Brad Richards, Vice President of Design and Creative Director, Motorcycles Harley-Davidson, reported by Visordown, Friday, May 9.

One of the main attractions of this bike is the final touch of paint called stunning reflection chrome. The coating process used is physical vapour deposition (PVD). Previously, PVD had indeed been used by Harley-Davidson, but only for small components such as tank emblems and exhaust covers. This time, the feder and fuel tank Fat Boy Gray Ghost became the first to get this wide PVD touch on Harley-Davidson's production motor.

In addition, Fat Boy Gray Ghost also received a layered framework of silver powder and various style features inspired by the original Fat Boy. Other interesting details include round cleaner water, yellow accents on lower rocker covers and powertrain covers, skin seat valance with turquoise and Tassel, as well as a unique tank console.

In terms of driving features, new driving modes include Road, Rain, and Sport. This limited edition motorcycle is also equipped with various features of the latest Rider Safety Enhancements from Harley-Davidson, such as cornering ABS, transaction control, drag-torque slip control, and tire pressure monitoring (TPMS).

The lighting now relies on all-new LED lights, and the heated grip feature comes as a standard. Important information for motorists is displayed on a five-inch screen installed on the console.
