Just Offer SUV, When Will GWM Bring The Pickup Line To Indonesia? This Is The Answer
JAKARTA - Great Wall Motor (GWM) has introduced itself to the Indonesian market since 2023 and started selling two different sub-brands, namely Haval and Tank at the beginning of last year.
Since then, this well-known automotive company from China has only marketed four models consisting of Haval Jolion, Haval H6, Tank 300, and Tank 500, all of which are SUV lines.
Even though he has just sold SUVs in the country, this manufacturer still plans to expand its line in various vehicle segments, including in the pickup market.
Sales & Networking Director of GWM Indonesia, Lisa Wijaya, hinted that her party will bring in a pickup line with a 'Poer' sub-brand in the future.
"We are interested in bringing in a pickup. However, we are not merely interested and then immediately brought in. Of course we need careful preparation," said Lisa when met by the media in Gatot Subroto, Jakarta, Thursday, May 8.

He explained that companies need more thorough preparation and take into account all aspects that are in accordance with the needs of Indonesian consumers.
"We need preparation. Now the pick-up is in the process of feasibility study," explained Lisa.
The 'Poer' sub-brand which has a double-cabin pickup has been listed on various global markets, such as East Asia and Australia called 'Cannon' and Saudi Arabia has the name 'Poer Kingkong'.
In several markets such as Australia, this sub-brand sells models such as Cannon Alpha equipped with a 3.0 liter V6 turbo mid-hybrid engine capable of pumping up to 355 hp and 500 Nm torque.
The model with another name Poer Sahar also has a choice of pure hybrid in a number of global markets armed with a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine combined with electric propulsion, which can drive up to 346 hp and 615 Nm of torque.
There is also a choice of a formidable diesel engine with a configuration of 2.0 liters of 4-cylinder turbo powered 184 hp and 480 Nm torque.
