Kompolnas Suspects Shooting Of Brawl Perpetrators In Medan Violates Procedures

Member of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) Choirul Anam suspects that the shooting that was allegedly carried out by the Head of the Belawan Port Police, Medan, North Sumatra, AKBP Oloan Siahaan against the perpetrators of the brawl that caused him to die, violated procedures.

"Our initial assumption is that in the context of shooting there was a violation of standard operating procedures," Anam said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 9.

He said there were indications that could be seen for alleged violations of the procedure, namely the size of the threat level and the level of taking action.

Until now, Kompolnas has not met by the inactive Belawan Port Police Chief AKBP Oloan Siahaan as the perpetrator of the shooting, to oversee further processes.

"The status of the Police Chief is currently at the National Police Headquarters Propam for a process," said Anam.

Meanwhile, Kompolnas assessed that the North Sumatra Police (North Sumatra) had disabled Oloan from his position, as a positive step.

"Because being inactive in the disclosure process is getting easier. We appreciate the steps taken by the North Sumatra Police," said Anam.

Kompolnas submitted a scientific assessment regarding the case to the Inspectorate of General Supervisory (Itwasum) of the National Police Headquarters.

On the other hand, Kompolnas also received facts on the Medan Belawan toll road, Medan, in that incident dozens of teenagers carried sharp weapons and used firecrackers to threaten the sterile room on the toll road.

"Then the Police Chief stopped seeing the child carrying a sharp weapon, therefore he carried out the shooting. The details of this shooting incident, in the track record, the naked eye cannot be broken down, a forensic laboratory must be unraveled, that's what we are waiting for," he said.
