Accelerating The Construction Of PGN Jargas In East Java Gets Full Support From The Deputy Governor
JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) is committed to accelerating the development of gas networks (jargas) for households in East Java. This commitment has received support from the East Java Provincial Government, so that it is one of the important keys to the wider use of gas lines in East Java.
PGN targets the construction of a home gas network of approximately 59,000 Home Connections (SR) by 2025-2026. The jargas development target will be carried out in the cities of Surabaya and Gresik.
Deputy Governor of East Java, Emil Elestianto Dardak, appreciated PGN's efforts to expand its gas network in East Java. According to him, jargas is a clean energy source that is beneficial for the people of East Java. Jargas can also be useful for small businesses in various sectors, including culinary centers.
Jargas is a more sustainable source of energy. Besides that, it can help the government to suppress LPG subsidies," Emil said in his statement, Friday, May 9.
Emil continued, the availability of energy and infrastructure of natural gas networks in East Java cannot be ignored. With the addition of almost 60,000 new connections, more and more people get natural gas services from PGN. People don't have to bother buying gas cylinders, because gas will be directly channeled to their respective homes.
Emil also added that so far the East Java Provincial Government has provided full support for the project by facilitating licensing. He also guarantees that he will prioritize the jargas program in East Java, by encouraging people to change the pattern of fuel consumption to cleaner energy. One of the things that the East Java Provincial Government is paying attention to is controlling the use of inappropriate energy, let alone polluting the environment, even though the gas network is already available.
By pocketing support from the East Java Provincial Government, PGN ensures that the construction of gas lines in East Java runs according to the targets that have been observed. This step is also in line with Asta Cita number 2 Prabowo - Gibran which encourages the nation's independence through self-sufficiency in energy, as the transition energy towards Net Zero Emission in 2060.
In order for further coordination regarding the development of natural gas services in East Java, the President Director of PGN, Arief S. Handoko accompanied by the Commercial Director of PGN Ratih Esti Prihatini and his ranks visited the Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Elestianto Dardak in Surabaya on Thursday, May 8.
"We have the spirit to assist the government in realizing energy independence and reducing the burden of state subsidies. One of the important points that we are also intensifying is education to the public to use cleaner and more practical earth," said Arief.
