Russia Attacks 8 Ukrainian Settlements 220 Times During 3 Days Of Ceasefire

JAKARTA - Russia attacked eight Ukrainian settlements near the front lines 220 times during the 3-day ceasefire.

This was reported by Zaporizhzhia regional governor Ivan Fedorov via the Telegram messaging platform on Friday, May 9.

As reported by Reuters, villages in Zaporizhia have been attacked by 150 drones and 70 artillery shells in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the ceasefire announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin took effect in the early hours of Thursday.

Ukraine's foreign minister previously called Russia repeatedly violating a 3-day ceasefire hours after its start. Ukraine called the ceasefire initiative Russia rolled out a "glucon".

"From midnight to midnight, Russia committed 734 ceasefire violations and 63 assault operations, 23 of which are still ongoing," he added.

Sybiha said Kyiv informed the United States and European countries of Russia's actions.

Russia's defense ministry, quoted by the Interfax news agency, said Ukraine carried out 488 attacks on Russian targets and twice tried to break through the border in the Kursk region.

Ukraine is not committed to complying with the ceasefire, calling a 3-day ceasefire a trick from Putin to create the impression he wants to end the war.
