Build A Huntara In Manokwari Fisherman's Village, Regency Government Disburses IDR 2.7 Billion

WEST PAPUA - The Manokwari Regency Government (Pemkab) in West Papua has spent a budget of IDR 2.7 billion to provide compensation for residents affected by the construction of temporary housing (huntara) in the Fisherman Village, Borobudur Complex, West Manokwari.

Acting Head of the Manokwari Social Service (Dinsos) Ferdy Lalenoh said the compensation was given to 166 heads of families (KK) whose residences were affected by the construction of shelters at the Borobudur Complex.

"The aspect that is considered is the cost of renting a house for three months according to the time of the construction of the shelter, the cost of mobilizing for transportation, and compensation for loss of livelihood, because some residents who have kiosks lose their livelihoods," he said in Manokwari, Friday, May 9, as reported by Antara.

He said the provision of compensation was given by the Manokwari Regency Government through the Social Service as a technical agency that handles social impacts.

Residents have also agreed with the compensation provided, he said, even they voluntarily and independently have dismantled their own homes.

Therefore, he continued, the government really appreciates the steps taken by these residents so that heavy equipment can enter the shelter construction site, considering that the area is a densely populated area.

Heavy equipment is deployed to clean areas. What residents do is a real form of synergy between the community and the government in the context of accelerating development, especially in the field of residential infrastructure," he said.

The construction of the huntara is one of the 100 working days program of the Regent and Deputy Regent of Manokwari as a strategic effort to organize the Borobudur Complex area to become a more organized, livable environment, and support improving the quality of life of the community.

As is known through the 100 work program of the Regent and Deputy Regent of Manokwari, the Manokwari Regency Government spent a budget of IDR 11.8 billion to build shelters in the fishing village of the Borobudur Complex, Padarni Village, West Manokwari District.

The construction of the shelter was carried out at the Borobudur Complex because the area had experienced a severe fire in 2021.

The Rp11.8 billion budget is to build 53 type 36 houses with other supporting buildings, with housing units divided into two categories, namely houses on land with a budget of Rp3.5 billion and houses on stilts for the beach area as many as 33 units with a budget of Rp7.2 billion.

Meanwhile, other supporting buildings in the form of construction of cor roads and connecting bridges along the 420 meter value IDR 434.7 million and installation of clean water and supporting buildings with a budget of IDR 640 million.
