Komdigi Blocks 1.3 Million Online Gambling Content, Most On Web And IP Addresses
JAKARTA - During the period from October 20, 2024 to May 7, 2025, the Ministry of Communication and Digital has blocked more than 1.3 million content affiliated with online gambling in Indonesia.
"In the period from October 20, 2024 to May 7, 2025, the Directorate General of Digital Space Supervision of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has handled 1,385,420 online gambling content," said Director General of Digital Space Supervision Alexander Sabar at the Ngopi with Komdigi event on Friday, May 9 in Jakarta.
Alex explained that the largest distribution of online gambling content was found on the website and IP address, which was 1,248,405 content. The rest are spread across various digital platforms.
Starting from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) as much as 58,585 content, 48,370 content file sharing services, Google including YouTube 18,534 content, X (formerly Twitter) 10,086 content, TikTok 550 content, Telegram 880 content, and other platforms with 10 content.
In addition, in the period July 2023 to May 2025, Komdigi has also submitted 14,478 account numbers and 2,188 digital wallet accounts suspected of being involved in online gambling activities to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Bank Indonesia (BI) for further handling.
According to him, Komdigi continues to take various steps to suppress online gambling activities, including strengthening infrastructure and governance of digital space surveillance by adopting the latest technology and methods to detect and take action against cybercriminals.
Previously, the Online Judi Eradication Task Force had announced a decrease in online gambling transactions in Q1 2025 of IDR 47 trillion, compared to the same period in the previous year of IDR 90 trillion.

However, Alex emphasized that the fight against online gambling has not been completed. Komdigi invites all agencies and levels of society to continue to jointly eradicate online gambling.
"The fight against online gambling is still not over, of course and we need collaborative action from all of us. For that, we invite all elements of society to participate in maintaining a safe and reliable digital space," he said.
Not to forget, Alex also asked the public to continue reporting digital content and accounts indicated online gambling through three Komdigi complaint services, namely content complaints in content.id complaints, number complaints in number.id complaints and account checks in account checks.id.
