APMI Said About Promotor Moves DAY6 Concert Venue Which Reaps Protests

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Music Promoter Association (APMI) said that the relocation of the DAY6 concert location from the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) to the Gelora Bung Karno Intermediate Stadium (GBK) was Mecimapro's biggest challenge as a concert promoter. This was conveyed by the chairman of APMI, Dino Hamid.

"I see this from an industry perspective, the biggest challenge does occur when Mecimapro has to move the venue because there are other events that need to be prioritized at JIS," said Dino Hamid quoting ANTARA on May 8.

Dino explained that the change in the location of this concert puts great pressure on technical matters such as stage arrangements, audience arrangements, and facility readiness in accordance with stadium standard concerts.

He appreciated Mecimapro's steps to continue to strive to fulfill audience rights in various ways, including providing shuttles, additional facility services, and refund policies that have been announced openly.

Dino also emphasized that challenges such as bad weather and postponement of events because security factors can happen to anyone.

"If there is an hour delay due to rain, it's part of the safety standard. We can't compromise with safety," he said.

Closing his statement, Dino hopes that the public can understand that the promoter will not only face technical challenges, but also unexpected external dynamics.

He assessed that the steps that Mecimapro had taken were a form of maximum responsibility in the midst of a stressful situation.

In addition, APMI has also asked Mecimapro to apologize for all the shortcomings that occurred during the DAY6 concert event.

"The promoter has apologized and carried out his commitment to carry out the promised refund and correct the shortcomings that existed yesterday," he concluded.
