Astra Allocates IDR 25 Trillion Capital Expenditure For Main Business In 2025

JAKARTA - PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) allocates capital expenditure (capex) worth IDR 25 trillion in 2025, or a decrease compared to IDR 32 trillion in 2024.

Capex will be allocated to the main business sectors of the company, including automotive, financial services, heavy mining equipment, agribusiness, infrastructure and property.

"This core business is our concern because that is what brings more stable profit today, even in the midst of a less conducive situation. This will be our concern, how to optimize the entire Astra core business," said ASII President Director Djony Bunarto Tjondro quoting Antara.

Djony explained that the company's capex allocation decreases as it tends to weaken people's purchasing power and economic volatility at the global level.

"We need to be more vigilant in pouring out capital expenditures. So, it could be down even today we estimate that a year (capex) will be IDR 25 trillion, but it could also decrease to below IDR 25 trillion," said Djony.

The company has allocated a capex worth IDR 4.5 trillion during the first quarter of 2025.

Djony explained that the company will diversify its business to more environmentally friendly sectors, and be more relevant in the next 20 to 30 years.

"Renewable energy, United Tractors (UT) has also entered the business into geothermal. It is more aggressive in seeing hydropower opportunities. Then it is also still disciplined and consistent to install solar panels," said Djony.

Then, his party will also focus on investing in the health sector and infrastructure that has been in the investment company since 2005, and has made a good contribution to the company.

"We have to do it well, so that the foundation is strong and can be more sustainable," said Djony.

In the first quarter of 2025, Astra International posted a net profit of IDR 6.93 trillion, or a decrease of 7.12 percent year on year (yoy) compared to IDR 7.46 trillion in the same period the previous year.

The company's net profit was supported by revenue which increased 2.64 percent (yoy) to IDR 83.36 trillion in the first quarter of 2025, compared to IDR 81.2 trillion in the same period the previous year.
