Hasto Staff Says KPK Investigators Deceived Rossa Before Confiscation Of Three Cellphones

JAKARTA - The staff of the PDI-P DPP (PDIP), Kusnadi, recounted the moment when the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator, Rossa Purbo Bekti, deceived him and led to searches and confiscation of his cellphone.

This statement was conveyed by Kusnadi when he was a witness at the trial of the alleged bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of the DPR RI and the obstruction of investigation with the defendant Secretary General of PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto.

It started when the Public Prosecutor (JPU) questioned the incident of confiscation of Hasto Kristiyanto's cellphone on June 10, when Kusnadi accompanied the PDIP Secretary General to undergo an examination at the KPK.

"What happened?" asked the prosecutor during a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Thursday, May 8.

"My incident was cheated, sir, cheated," Kusnadi replied.

"Tricked, who cheated?" asked the prosecutor asserted.

"He said I was called father (Hasto), it didn't turn out," replied Kusnadi.

At that time, Kusnadi, who was also a staff member of Hasto Kristiyanto, firmly said that it was Rossa Purbo Bekti who had deceived him. Then, it was told that the action of the KPK investigator began when he was smoking in the area of the anti-rasuah institution building.

Suddenly, Rossa approached him and said that Hasto Kristiyanto, who was on the top floor, called him.

"Did you go outside at that time? Visit?" asked the prosecutor.

"Two people," replied Kusnadi.

"What was conveyed?" said the prosecutor.

"Mr. (hasto) was summoned, sir," said Kusnadi.

"After you were asked to come to Pak Hasto. Then where did you meet Mr. Hasto?" said the prosecutor.

"In the room. Mr. Manggil, I (asked for hasto), didn't (say hasto). Yes, I was about to go down, I couldn't go down. In fact, I was searched, sir," said Kusnadi.

During the search, Rossa took three cellphones on Kusnadi. One of them belongs to Hasto Kristiyanto.

"Then after being searched what was found in the search?" asked the prosecutor

"Not found, sir. Asked for a cellphone," said Kusnadi.

"How many cellphones do you have?" asked the prosecutor.

"There are three if I'm not mistaken," replied Kusnadi.

"My cellphone, secretariat cellphone, one more has a father (hasto), sir" he continued.

In the alleged bribery case, Hasto was jointly charged with advocate Donny Tri Istiqomah; the former convict of the Harun Masiku case, Saeful Bahri; and Harun Masiku gave money amounting to 57,350 Singapore dollars or equivalent to Rp600 million to Wahyu in the 2019-2020 period.

The money is allegedly given with the aim that Wahyu strives for the KPU to approve the request for an interim replacement (PAW) for the Elected Legislative Candidate for the Electoral Region (Dapil) of South Sumatra (Sumsel) I on behalf of the Members of the DPR for the 2019-2024 period Riezky Aprilia to Harun Masiku.

In addition, Hasto was also charged with obstructing the investigation by ordering Harun, through the Aspiration House guard, Nur Hasan, to submerge Harun's cell phone into the water after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested members of the General Election Commission (KPU) for the 2017-2022 period Wahyu Setiawan.

Not only Harun Masiku's cellphone, Hasto is also said to have ordered his aide, Kusnadi, to drown his cell phone in anticipation of forced attempts by KPK investigators.

Thus, Hasto is threatened with a crime as regulated in Article 21 and Article 5 Paragraph (1) letter a or Article 13 of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 65 Paragraph (1) and Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1 jo.
