Pangku Mejeng In Cannes, Reza Rahadian Targets International Networks And Collaboration
JAKARTA Actor and director Reza Rahadian is preparing to bring his latest film entitled Pangku to one of the world's prestigious film events, the Cannes Film Festival. The Pangku film will be presented in the Marche du Film program, which is known as the largest film market in the world.
"From me, it is more about looking for potential for sales agents and then partnerships in other forms because this is more specific, right," said Reza Rahadian when met in the Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, May 6.
In the event, Pangku was included in the Work in Progress (WIP) category which was selectively selected from five presenter festivals in Marche du Film. Reza emphasized the importance of this opportunity as a place to pitch and expand international networks.
"So there is a working progress film that has been selective WIP from 5 presenter festivals in Marche du Film in Cannes, yes, presenting the film it's another pitch, it's another presentation, and trying to hopefully try to get better networks because Marche Du The film market is quite wide, like it's the biggest in the world," he continued.

Reza also hopes to meet with various potential parties who can become distribution partners and collaboration in the future.
"So there will be a lot of sales agents coming there, producers, then there may be some collaborative partners who might be able to collaborate," explained Reza Rahadian.
As a director, this experience is an important point in Reza's career which has been better known as an actor. For him, the journey of Pangku which has crossed various international film events is a very meaningful experience.
"So come back again, this is a good time to network, especially for me personally, as a director of Pangku, this is the first time to join the network from JAFF project, to Hong Kong then now to Cannes, I think this is a long and very new journey for me personally," he concluded.
