Komdigi Prepares SATRIA-1 At Strategic Points In Central Maluku

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, said he would prepare a Satellite service for the Republic of Indonesia (SATRIA-1) for the people in Central Maluku Regency.

Nezar revealed that the Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) of the Ministry of Communication and Industry will study and provide educational, health, government and defense service points.

SATRIA-1 is able to provide speeds of up to 3 to 4 Mbps. Later we will study the area, maybe it can be assisted using the SATRIA-1 satellite," said Nezar in his official broadcast when receiving a visit from the Central Maluku Regent Zulkarnain Awat Amir.

Later, according to Nezar, the ground segment will be installed at points that help the community for education, health, government and defense services.

He stated that Komdigi would focus on equitable digital connectivity, as an effort to accelerate digital transformation in Indonesia.

"So it will be specifically for blank spots, if there are points, please consult them. Later we can help," he added.

However, he emphasized, if the blank spot is not included in the 3T area, then Komdigi will look for cellular operators to ask them to build BTS in the area.

At the same time, Nezar also emphasized the importance of accessing digital literacy, which is intended to make people more ready to take advantage of existing digital connectivity for more impactful activities.

Digital literacy is needed there so that people are more aware. This is also to educate them to understand the dangers of hoaxes, misinformation or misinformation, disinformation," he said.
