Workers Died Of Explosion At The Bulango Ulu Gorontalo Reservoir Project

JAKARTA - A worker died in an explosion incident at the construction site of the Bulango Ulu Reservoir, Bulango Ulu District, Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo.

Bone Bolango Police Chief AKBP Supriantoro said the incident occurred on Tuesday (6/5) and after receiving the information, he and the Identification Team from the Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) visited the scene.

"The information we received was that there was a work accident at the construction site of the Bulango Ulu Reservoir, with the death toll of one worker," said AKBP Supriantoro as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 7.

His party did not know the exact chronology of the incident in detail, but currently Satreskrim personnel are conducting an investigation.

According to preliminary information, during the sinking process the victim and several of his co-workers were at the location, and it was suspected that the victim was not far from the location of the rock that was about to be detonated.

During the explosion, the victim fell and fell and was likely hit, so that when he was rushed to the hospital, his life could not be saved or died.

At the time of the incident, he said, the victim reportedly did not wear complete personal protective equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

"Information we received, one person died. This case is currently under investigation, and personnel will ask for information from witnesses and related parties related to the activities of the Bulango Ulu Reservoir construction project," said the Police Chief.

The Bulango Ulu Reservoir is one of the National Strategic Projects in Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province, which is designed as a multifunctional building and built at a cost of IDR 2.42 trillion, and has a capacity of 84.10 million cubic meters.
