Garuda Boss Denies Bringing The Group Of Ex-Lion Air Employees

JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (GIAA) responded to news issues related to the Lion Air group of employees who joined the state-owned airline company and received salaries of hundreds of millions.

Garuda Indonesia President Director, Military Commander Tsani, denied this information that his party brought a group of former Lion Air airline employees into Garuda Indonesia.

"So we emphasize that this is not true. So we brought a professional team actually," he said in a meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 7.

The Military Commander also emphasized that his party brought a professional team to help accelerate the increase in Garuda Indonesia's operations.

In addition, the Military Commander also denied the nominal salary that was circulating on social media at that time. As well as facilities provided by management.

"So, when we look at the names, we also bring them from several companies, so it's not just Lion and it's also not true if the salary is conveyed," he said.

The military commander also regretted the news. Even so, he is committed to be able to immediately improve Garuda Indonesia's performance.

"So actually our goal to bring it is that all of them are professionals that we recruit according to existing procedures and GCGs. So there are no violations there," he said.

Previously, PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) raised its voice regarding 14 former employees of PT Lion Mentari Airlines or Lion Air who entered Garuda Indonesia and received a salary of Rp. 117 million per month.

For your information, the news regarding 14 former Lion Air employees who entered Garuda Indonesia had gone viral on social media. Currently, Garuda Indonesia is led by the Military Commander Tsani who is the former CEO of Lion Air.

Based on the information obtained, the 14 former Lion Air employees consisted of several positions. Starting from the position of CEO Officer Specialist of Garuda Indonesia with a salary ranging from Rp52 million to Rp117 million.

Then, Senior Lead Professional with a salary of Rp. 31.2 million. Then, the Managing Director Protocol with a salary of Rp. 31.2 million and the Ibu Dirut Protocol with a salary of Rp. 25 million.

Responding to this, Garuda Indonesia's Human Capital & Corporate Service Director Enny Kristiani said Garuda Indonesia understands the public's attention that arises, following the development of information on the employee's list on social media.

Enny also confirmed a number of names listed on the list circulating on social media, currently listed as the CEO of Office Specialist to Lead Professional at Garuda Indonesia.

Furthermore, Enny said they were tasked with assisting the Tsani Military Commander in terms of strategic functions based on their respective expertise, starting from the planning level for business development, operations, commercial, network development to support within the scope of general affairs.

"We can emphasize that the employee admission process is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the employee recruitment that applies to the Company, namely that all of these employees are pro-hire employees with certain time work contracts," he said, confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, March 5.

Even so, Enny emphasized that the information circulating on social media, both related to tasks, functions and remuneration, is not fully valid.
