3 TNI Members In Bali Allegedly Persecuted By Residents To Death, Victim Reportedly Embezzled The Motorbike Of The Perpetrator's Parents

DENPASAR - Three members of the TNI are suspected of being involved in a case of mistreatment of a civilian to death.

Head of Information for Military Regions (Kapendam) IX/Udayana, Colonel Inf. Candra confirmed the incident.

Meanwhile, the victim's family named Gede Kamar Yadnya (44) visited Subdenpom IX/3-1 Singaraja to inform the victim named Komang Juliatawan (31), a resident of Sepang Village, Buleleng died at Buleleng Hospital for being abused by members of Infantry Battalion 900/SBW.

"Regarding the alleged involvement of three members of Yonif 900/SBW, the initials Sertu KSY, Pratu MR, and Prada PAH in the incident. Kapendam IX/Udy said that currently the three of them have been secured and are still in the process of intensive investigation by Subdenpom IX/3-1 Singaraja in accordance with applicable legal procedures," Colonel Candra said in a written statement, Wednesday, 7 Meei.

From the results of an interim investigation conducted by the Singaraja Subdenpom IX/3-1 team, it is known that the victim embezzled and sold the motorbike belonging to Prada PAH's biological parents. It was stated that money from selling motorbikes was spent gambling.

This made the three perpetrators take excessive actions or take justice into their own hands.

"We have taken swift and decisive action, and we continue to coordinate with the authorities to ensure that the legal process runs fairly and objectively," he added.

Colonel Candra emphasized that Kodam IX/Udayana upholds the rule of law and will not tolerate any form of violation, especially those that injure public trust in the TNI institution. Anyone found guilty will be legally processed firmly and transparently.

"All parties are to give full trust to law enforcement officials in carrying out the investigation process in a professional, transparent manner, and in accordance with applicable legal provisions," he said.
