David Lee Roth Announces First Tour Since Deciding To Retire From The Music Stage

JAKARTA - David Lee Roth's performance at the M3 Rock Festival at Merriweather Post Pavilion, Maryland, last weekend, marks the first stage of Van Halen's former vocalist in five years.

He performed with 16 songs, most of which came from his tenure as Van Halen's vocalist. In addition, he performed a cover of The Kinks' song entitled "You Really Got Me".

As is known, it has been five years since Roth has not appeared on stage. He also decided to retire to hold a tour.

But with the current situation, Roth seems to have withdrawn her intention to retire. Shortly after her appearance at the M3 Rock Festival, the 70-year-old singer announced a tour series that included 21 shows this summer.

David Lee Roth tour will begin with a show at the California Mid-State Fair, Paso Robles on 22 July. Next, he will explore several states in the US through September 14.

Meanwhile, Roth's retirement announcement was delivered after undergoing a tenure at House of Blues, Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas in 2022.

"I gave up. I retired," said Roth at the time. "This is the first and only official announcement. You've got the news. Share it with the world."

"I will not explain that statement," he added. "I have kept the explanation. These are my last five shows."

For information, Roth was first known as Van Halen's vocalist from 1974 to 1985. He appeared in Van Halen's first six recordings, before starting a solo career.

Roth's position was later replaced by Sammy totaling, despite returning to appearance once in 1996, before Gary Cherone took over the vocal position.
