Using Internal Funds, PGN Aims For Construction Of 44,000 Gas Jars In Surabaya

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) will build 44,000 new jargas in Surabaya.

"In 2025-2026, the additional jargas for the community is targeted at 44,000 SR with PGN internal funds," said PGN Corporate Secretary Fajriyah Usman in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 7.

On a separate occasion, General Manager of PGN SOR III, Hedi Hedianto explained that the construction of jargas in Surabaya was accelerated in line with the enthusiasm of the people of Surabaya.

"From the results of our meeting, the Surabaya City Government provides full support for the jargas program. Both in terms of socialization, encouraging people to switch to using natural gas products, as well as related to the construction process of PGN's natural gas network in the city of Surabaya," said Hedi.

With this support, the construction of jargas in Surabaya is expected to be completed faster than the target in 2025 and 2026, so that public access to clean energy of natural gas can be wider. The use of natural gas is more environmentally friendly, efficient, practical and safe for mothers to cook at home and for small businesses.

On the same occasion, the Regional Secretary of the Surabaya City Government, Ikhsan welcomed the PGN jargas program and supported the program, because many people were waiting.

Many residents waited, even yesterday they had questioned when PGN's gas network would be rebuilt. But our hope is that the construction will be prioritized in villages so that small communities can be helped," said Ikhsan.

Ikhsan also believes that Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi will also provide full support. because the Mayor of Surabaya wants to improve people's welfare, increase income and reduce expenses.

"If you use more efficient natural gas, then spending will be smaller and people can save. Hopefully this program can be implemented soon," he concluded.
