Komdigi Prepares Cross-Ministerial Decree And Permen To Protect Children In The Digital Room

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs is finalizing a joint decree (SKB) across ministries to protect children in the digital space.

In addition, Menkomdigi Meutya Hafid also said that they were preparing Ministerial Regulations as technical rules for implementing Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 (PP TUNAS).

"However, we realize that the success of this PP cannot be achieved without full support from the education and child protection sector," said Meutya in her official broadcast.

In addition to regulations, Meutya highlighted the challenges of children's dependence on social media. According to her, the use of social media by children has reached the dependence stage.

"If we tighten the age of use, we must increase physical and social activities for children through formal and extracurricular education," he explained.

This cross-ministerial decree is being prepared to ensure more coordinated and effective implementation in the field.

"With this SKB, we want to strengthen collaboration between ministries so that our steps in the field can be faster and more coordinated," added Meutya.

Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti also provided full support for this cross-ministerial decree.

"We have one voice regarding the urgency of establishing a SKB to ensure the protection of children in the digital world," said the deputy chairman of the Golkar Party.
