Starlink Satellite Service Now Operates On IPhone 13 Thanks To IOS 18.5

JAKARTA Apple launched satellite connectivity support earlier this year on the iPhone 14 Series. Now, the company is expanding satellite support to the iPhone 13 Series so users can use Starlink.

This support does not come from Apple's system, but from operators operating on the device. Apple only supports satellite networks provided by operators. Although not Apple's provider, the company also has an important role.

Without the right system support, iOS users will not be able to use satellite internet services such as Starlink. Therefore, this time the iOS 18.5 RC update benefits iPhone 13 users, from standard models to Pro models.

With the availability of this new feature, iPhone 13 Series users will gain access to the satellite features offered by the T-Mobile operator. The company is offering the Starlink satellite internet network.

This support is slightly different from the one on the iPhone 14 Series or a newer device. All of these phone models have Apple's Emergency SOS feature support that allows its features to work without an operator network.

This feature requires a dedicated hardware that is only found in the iPhone 14 Series and later. For iPhone 13 Series users, they only get satellite connectivity services if the service from the operator is not affordable.

Of course, this satellite service can only be used if the user has a compatible package from the operator or service provider. It is not yet known in what areas this feature can be accessed via the iPhone 13 Series.
