Samsung Removes Galaxy AI Features In Middle And Lower Class Phones
JAKARTA - Samsung has quietly removed AI support from the Samsung Internet Browser app on devices that are not officially supported, blocking loopholes that users previously used to access the Browse Assist feature. Although the feature was running well on older devices, this move indicates that Samsung wants to maintain exclusive AI features for recent models to encourage users to upgrade.
Big companies like Apple, Samsung, and Google do not tend to present AI features to all older devices, for several reasons: hardware limitations, and business strategies to attract consumers to buy the latest models with AI-based flagship features.
However, Reddit users find a way to enable the AI Browse Assist feature on devices that officially don't support it. This feature uses artificial intelligence to summarize and auto-translate web pages in the Samsung Internet application.
Unfortunately, Samsung seems to be aware of the existence of this gap. In the latest update of the Samsung Internet app version v28.0.059, the AI feature can no longer be accessed on the device is unsupported. Although in the changelog or update record it is not explicitly mentioned, the update is known to block access to AI features secretly.

According to @Feruzbek_101 X (Twitter) account tweets, users are advised not to update to the latest version of the app if they want to keep using the AI feature on older devices. This is because the update effectively disables AI functionality, even if it works well before.
This deletion does not appear to be caused by technical constraints or hardware compatibility, as the feature remains normal before the update. Many think this step is due to business considerations, to maintain the exclusivity of AI features in premium devices.
Despite being disappointing for middle and lower class Samsung mobile users, this clarifies the company's strategy of distinguishing entry-level products from flagship. If you are a user who has used this loophole, avoid updating the Samsung Internet app if you still want to take advantage of the AI feature.
