JAKARTA - The Department of Medicine and Health (Bidokkes) of the West Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) has handed over a total of eight bodies of victims of the deadly inter-Sumatra bus accident (ALS) to the family.
"We have handed over eight bodies to the families of the victims at the Padang Panjang City Hospital," said Head of Sub-Directorate for Dokpol for Medicine and Health (Bidokkes) of the West Sumatra Police, Dr. Eka Purnama Sari, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 6.
Dr. Eka said that as many as three bodies were brought by the family to the Padang Sidempuan area, two to Medan City and three to be brought to the Sibolga area, North Sumatra.
"The victim's family came from Bekasi and Medan City to pick up his family," said Dr. Eka.
Meanwhile, the other four bodies will be taken to the Bhayangkara Hospital, Padang City. This was done because the Padang Panjang City Hospital did not have a place to store the bodies.
"For the other four bodies, the family can pick them up directly to Bhayangkara Hospital," he said.
The four bodies were identified by the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team. However, until 20.30 WIB no family has contacted the hospital or the police.
The local police have also established a traffic accident handling post centered at the Padang Panjang City Hospital. Then, to facilitate coordination, the heirs can also contact officers at 08116667118.
