Real Madrid Want Trent Alexander-Arnold Faster
JAKARTA - Real Madrid wants Trent Alexander-Arnold to join the 2025 Club World Cup this summer. Now, Los Blancos are planning talks with Liverpool to negotiate an early release from their contract.
The Premier League club confirmed on Monday, May 5, 2025, that Alexander-Arnold had informed Liverpool of his intention to leave the club this summer after the current expiration of his contract.
He will leave Anfield after his contract expires on June 30, 2025 as a free agent.
ESPN has reported that Real Madrid is very optimistic about signing the England international on a free transfer.
Talks with the Alexander-Arnold camp have been going on for months and only final details have not yet been about the contract.
Real Madrid have reached an oral agreement with Alexander-Arnold. He will be open to joining early, by the end of the Premier League season, if a deal can be reached with Liverpool.

The La Liga giant now wants to negotiate a deal with Liverpool--at a reasonable cost--to allow Alexander-Arnold to join before his contract at Anfield expires.
That will allow the defender to travel with Real Madrid to the United States to take part in the 2025 Club World Cup.
Real Madrid group matches will meet them with Al Hilal in Miami, Florida, on 18 June 2025, Pachuca in Charlotte, North Carolina, on 22 June 2025, and Salzburg in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 26 June 2025.
Real Madrid see Alexander-Arnold's participation in the tournament as the best way to integrate it into the team as soon as possible and prepare for the 2025/2026 season.
Meanwhile, Liverpool won their 20th Premier League title last week.
Alexander-Arnold have spent 20 years at Anfield, won the 2019 Champions League, two Premier League titles, FA Cup, League Cup, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.
"I've come to a point where I feel I need a new change, a new challenge for me as a player as a person."
"I think now is the right time for me to do that," he said on Monday, May 5, 2025.
