Jordanian Citizen Drifts Away During Night Swimming At Batu Belig Beach, Seminyak

DENPASAR - A foreign national (WNA) from Jordan reportedly drifted away while swimming at night at Batu Belig Beach, Seminyak, Badung.

"The incident began when the victim, on behalf of Ozam (name) aged 27, swam around 00.30 WITA with four friends," said Head of the Bali Basarnas Office I Nyoman Sidakarya Tuesday, May 6.

The Jordanian foreigner was immediately swept away by the current and disappeared while swimming ahead of the turn of the day.

"His friends are trying to find it, but it doesn't work," said Sidakarya.

Finally, Basarnas Bali received a report that foreigners were swept away on Batu Belig Beach at around 06.05 WITA from Polair.

SAR Bali deployed six personnel to the location to conduct a search, but the search began with heavy rain and strong winds which were quite difficult.

The team finally got off using a rubber boat to comb around the location where the victim was swept away by the current.

The search started at 08.00 WITA this morning but has not found a bright spot for the Jordanian foreigner.
