Welcoming The Arrival Of Athletes, PBSI Chairman Appreciates The Achievement In The 2025 Sudirman Cup

JAKARTA - The General Chairperson (Ketum) of PBSI, M. Fadil Imran, directly welcomed the arrival of the Indonesian badminton team which had completed the agenda at the 2025 Sudirman Cup. Jonatan Christie and colleagues arrived from Xiamen, China, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Monday, May 5, 2025, evening WIB.

The chairman of PBSI appreciated the achievement of the team that successfully won the bronze medal from the most prestigious mixed team event.

"I welcome you back to the country to athletes, coaches and the Sudirman Cup support team with no shortage of anything," said Fadil Inran in an official statement from PBSI quoted on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

"The award for the effort and the extraordinary struggle for the team to be able to reach the semifinals of the 2025 Sudirman Cup. This is a gift for PBSI's 74th birthday which falls right today," said Fadil.

The South Korean Red-White Team's efforts were stopped by South Korea in the semifinals with a score of 2-3. However, the fighting power of all athletes who are trusted to fill the squad plus the absence of several key players makes this result a very good result.

According to the Head of PBSI, the results in the 2025 Sudirman Cup can be a benchmark for progress and the process that is already on the right track.

"Development of progress and good quality improvement for young players in this tournament show that the PBSI program in this management is currently running on track," said Fadil.

"The PBSI commitment is to continue to support the continuation of achievements with the program from Binpres PBSI to ensure that the chain of guidance in Indonesia does not become broken," said Fadil.

Furthermore, Fadil conveyed a message to continue to maintain this good momentum while continuing to train seriously.

"For all athletes, let's practice harder to raise the level of play and excel for Red and White," he said.
