BMKG: Light Rain To Lightning Is Predicted To Hit Several Big Cities Today
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in the majority of Indonesia will be cloudy to rainy today, Tuesday, May 6.
BMKG Prakirawati Indah Fitrianti explained that the potential for cloudy weather occurred in the Tanjung Pinang area, thick clouds in the Padang area, light rain in the Banda Aceh area, moderate rain in the Medan area, and the potential for thunderstorms to occur in the Pekanbaru area.
"Still on the island of Sumatra, the potential for smart weather will occur in the Jambi and Bandar Lampung areas, the potential for fog weather to occur in the Palembang area, the potential for thick cloudy weather to occur in Bengkulu, and the potential for light rain to occur in the Pangkal Pinang area," said Indah, quoted by ANTARA.
In the Java region, Indah explained the potential for light rain to occur in the Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya areas, as well as the potential for rain to occur in the Serang area.
In the Bali and Nusa Tenggara regions, he explained the potential for light rain to occur in the Mataram and Kupang areas, as well as the potential for rain to occur in the Denpasar area.
"Towards Kalimantan Island, the potential for cloudy weather occurs in Pontianak, light rain in the Palangkaraya and Tanjung Selor areas. Beware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning that will occur in the Banjarmasin and Samarinda areas," he said.
Furthermore, in the Sulawesi area, Indah said the potential for chartered weather occurred in the Palu area, light rain in the Makassar, Gorontalo, Manado, and Kendari areas, as well as the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in the Mamuju area.
As for Eastern Indonesia, he revealed the potential for cloudy weather to occur in the Ternate, thick cloudy areas in the Ambon region, light rain in the Sorong, Manokwari, and Jayapura areas.
Meanwhile, the potential for rain is occurring in Merauke and the potential for rain accompanied by lightning that occurs in the Nabire and Jayawijaya areas.
