Cole Palmer Replys To Criticism After Ending Paciclik Gol At Chelsea
JAKARTA - Cole Palmer has responded to criticism on social media after ending his goal drought in Chelsea's 3-1 win over Liverpool on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
The Blues are fifth in the Premier League standings after beating the champions at Stamford Bridge. They took a 2-0 lead through goals from Enzo Fernandez and Jarell Quansah's own goal in the 56th minute.
Virgil van Dijk narrowed the gap, but Palmer scored with a penalty in injury time to score his first goal in 13 games, a note that left him feeling a hard reaction after a good start in his job at Chelsea after being recruited for 42.5 million pounds from Manchester City in September 2023.
Palmer scored 36 goals and made 17 assists from his first 54 appearances, but he only had two assists and did not score in 12 games before facing Liverpool.

"We played very well as a team. They won for a reason, but we showed passion."
"I feel normal. Sorry for my language. Obviously it happened, I didn't score for three months."
"However, it gives me more enthusiasm and motivation to do more for myself and the team."
"Social media is currently full of stupid people. I didn't pay attention to that. I scored today's goal and I'm happy."
"However, it's just one and I have to keep growing and try to reach a new level. Getting chances and not scoring goals, it feels like you're disappointing your team."
"I feel like I'm mentally strong. I feel proud to be able to help the team. If I don't do it, I'm not happy," Palmer told Sky Sports after the win.
Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Arne Slot made six changes to his line-up after securing last weekend's Premier League title.
However, he denied his team had lowered its standards.
"For a lot, I don't see any declines. Today, we can see why we won this league."
"We brought the ball out of the back very well. We bounced back after trailing 0-2."
"We didn't give up, but I've said before, the margin is small. In a few moments, some percentages don't exist," said Arne Slot.
