YLPK Records 150 Complaints From Residents Due To Total Power Outages In Bali

DENPASAR - Bali Consumer Complaint Service Foundation (YLPK) recorded that to date 150 residents have made complaints about the impact of the blackout in Bali on Friday (2/5).

"There are many complaints, but many do not include data on losses, only convey complaints so that this power outage does not often occur, in total it may be 150 complaints," said YLPK Bali Director I Putu Armaya, Monday, May 5.

He calculated that for complaints that included data on losses, at least Rp. 200 million was recorded.

"Most of the complaints from koi owners from Singaraja and Denpasar, if Tabanan owns laying hens, then there are also those who complain about their damaged computer in Denpasar," said Armaya.

While continuing to collect complaints, YLPK Bali will start writing to PLN to file demands from electricity consumers.

Armaya said that this application for accountability is natural because it has been regulated in Law Number 8 of 1999, where consumers are entitled to compensation.

If business actors are not able to provide goods and services, including not being able to provide electricity services to consumers properly, consumers are entitled to compensation in the form of goods, money, or compensation with the equivalent value.

Armaya explained that there is a reason people can be affected by blackouts, such as complaints from koi fish owners who lost millions of rupiah because their pet fish died.

Actually, koi fish owners have prepared emergency equipment so that fish do not die when the electricity goes out. However, because the electricity has been out for too long, the fish do not survive, until the water is extinguished and the water reservoir is drained out," he said.

In addition to accommodating public complaints, YLPK Bali also asked PLN to immediately reveal and explain the details of electricity issues that were reportedly extinguished due to disturbances in the Java-Bali transmission.

According to him, it is important to know electricity consumers so that they get good information and a correct understanding of the situation.

It is known, the blackout for almost all of Bali on Friday (2/5), where the average blackout occurred for 5 hours and this afternoon the blackout occurred again at a number of points for network maintenance.
