Kuo's Ming-Chi Claim: Apple's Second Folding IPhone Scheduled To Launch In 2027

JAKARTA - Apple is rumored to be releasing a foldable iPhone for its second generation in the second half of 2027, as part of a major change in the iPhone line launch strategy. This is according to well-known industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

In a recent report outlining Apple's reorganized iPhone roadmap until 2027, Kuo said that the company will launch its first foldable iPhone in the second half of next year (2026), followed by a second-generation model a year later in 2027 which coincides with the 20th anniversary of the first iPhone.

Previously, a technology journalist from Bloomberg, Mark Gurman, also reported that Apple plans to present a folding iPhone in 2027, along with the iPhone Pro model which is said to appear more 'dare' with the wider use of glass material. Although Gurman did not specify how many generations of the foldable iPhones would come, his statement was in line with Kuo's prediction that Apple's first foldable model would be released in 2026.

Thus, the latest report from Kuo strengthens the allegation that the foldable device that will be present in 2027 is the second version of the bookstyle folding iPhone previously estimated by Gurman.

Apple itself has not provided official confirmation regarding the whereabouts or launch schedule of this foldable device, but this rumor further strengthens expectations that the company is preparing to enter a new era of design and innovation in their iPhone line.
