Prabowo Calls Low Inflation In Indonesia The Result Of Jokowi's Leadership

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto said the current low inflation rate in Indonesia is the result of the leadership and management of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo.

"This is an achievement and I have to say, to be honest this is not because Mas Gibran is next to me, no. This is objective, this is one of the results of Pak Jokowi's leadership and management," Prabowo said while chairing the 6-month Cabinet-themed Session of the Red and White Cabinet government at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday, May 5.

Prabowo assessed that Jokowi's experience as mayor contributed to understanding inflation control. This is something that may not be taught at universities like Harvard or MIT.

It is known that inflation in Indonesia in 2024 is 1.57 percent, the lowest in history.

According to Prabowo, the ability to maintain inflation is one of the important milestones of government. Indonesia's inflation is among the lowest in the world.

"Our inflation is one of the lowest in the world. Maybe among the five lowest countries in the world, maybe lower inflation than we probably China," said the President.

Prabowo also expressed his appreciation for the solid cooperation of the Red and White Cabinet in achieving the inflation target so that many countries are interested in studying Indonesia's strategy.

However, the President stressed that some aspects of inflation control policies do not need to be disclosed in detail, except for the purpose of sharing knowledge with partners who want to learn.

"Many countries want to learn how to control inflation from us. The Minister of Home Affairs doesn't need to tell us, does it? What is the secret of the kitchen, don't open it all, except for friends. If you want to learn, you can," said the Head of State.

The President chaired the Plenary Cabinet Session at the Presidential Office, Monday afternoon, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Today's cabinet meeting was attended by almost all ministers of the Red and White Cabinet and heads of agencies.
