PBSI Confirms Daniel Marthin's Knee Injury

JAKARTA The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) confirmed that Daniel Marthin had a knee injury. The level of seriousness of the injury will only be known in the next few days.

PBSI Pelatnas doctor, dr. Hasna HM, said that the injury was suffered by Daniel because he did not land in the right position after jumping smash.

"From the results of the initial examination, the left knee looks swollen and when bent it feels very painful," said Hasna in a statement received from PBSI Public Relations.

Daniel suffered this injury in a match against the Danish pair, Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, in the last match of the 2025 Sudirman Cup group stage.

Hasna said that Daniel had undergone a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examination to detect more specific types of injuries.

"One day after being hit by an injury, Daniel immediately returned to Jakarta to carry out an MRI. The results will be known in the next few days," he said.

Indonesia completed its journey in the 2025 Sudirman Cup only as a semifinalist or missed the desired final target.

Jonathan Christie and his friends ran aground in the semifinals after losing 2-3 against South Korea, a team that later lost in the final against the hosts and first seed, China.

China managed to defend their title and won the 14th title in tournament history.
