Wayan Kariasa And Marcia Hutasoit Were Charged With 15 Years In Prison For Neglecting The Contents Of Crystal Methamphetamine In Bali
DENPASAR - Two narcotics traffickers named I Wayan Kariasa alias Kepek (42) and Marcia Illasabina Hutasoit alias Aci (37) were sentenced to 15 years in prison at the Denpasar District Court, Bali.
"Demand, imprison the defendant for 15 years, and a fine of Rp1.5 billion with a subsidiary of six months in prison," said public prosecutor (JPU) Eddy Arta Wijaya in a virtual trial at the Denpasar District Court, Bali, quoted by Antara, Thursday April 29.
The prosecutor assessed that the defendant in this case violated Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. There is also evidence from the two defendants, namely 95.49 grams net shabu-shabu, and in the form of cannabis plants weighing 14.03 grams net which will be distributed in several areas of Bali.
The case began with the arrest of the defendant I Wayan Kariasa in the Klungkung Regency area on Tuesday, February 9, while carrying a package. In the package was found a negligee in which there was a package of narcotics type shabu-shabu weighing 95.49 grams net.
Furthermore, Marcia Illasabina Hutasoit was searched, and obtained three plastic clips containing seeds, stems and leaves of the narcotic cannabis plant weighing 8.25 grams net, 4.46 grams net, and 1.95 grams net, respectively.
In addition, in cigarette packs, seeds and stems of cannabis plants with a net weight of 1.88 grams were also found.
The defendants admitted that the package belonged to Karlo who was in Medan. In addition, the two defendants will distribute the narcotics according to Karlo's orders.
The two defendants received Rp.800 thousand in wages for distributing two packages of narcotics. In addition, in mid-January 2021, the two suspects sent a package of marijuana to Ubud, Gianyar and for this, they received a wage of IDR 1.2 million.
At the end of January 2021, the defendants again distributed marijuana to the same address in Ubud, Gianyar with a wage of IDR 1.6 million, so that from the investigation process, the two defendants were immediately arrested.
