Latest RUPTL, Expressing The Strategic Role Of IIF In Supporting EBT Investment
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) revealed that the 2025-2034 Electric Power Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) has been completed.
Quoted from CNBC Indonesia on Wednesday, April 23, the Director General (Dirjen) of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jisman P. Hutajulu, said that the RUPTL document which will be valid for the next 10 years is in accordance with the electricity plan that has been previously ratified through the National Electricity General Plan (RUKN) until 2060.
Previously, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) targeted the preparation process for RUPTL 2025-2034 to be completed in April 2025. In compiling the RUPTL, the government seeks to find a midpoint between the issue of reducing carbon emissions with Indonesia's capabilities, among others by optimizing the potentials of Indonesia's natural resources, including New Renewable Energy (EBT).
IIF's Chief Investment Officer, M. Ramadhan Harahap (Idhan) said that the certainty of the completion of the 2025-2034 RUPTL will be a breath of fresh air for the development of EBT in Indonesia.
"In accordance with the direction of government policy to optimize natural resources while at the same time reducing carbon emissions, this RUPTL is expected to provide a significant portion for EBT projects. This step is in line with Indonesia's global commitment to energy transition to a more sustainable future," he said, in a written statement, Monday, May 5.
He added that in the context of the development of the EBT-focused RUPTL, IIF has an important strategic role. As a financial institution that focuses on infrastructure financing, IIF can be the main catalyst in realizing EBT projects.

"EBT infrastructure projects generally require large capital investments with long-term returns. IIF can provide financing schemes that match these project characteristics, including long-tensor loans and flexible financing structures," said Idhan.
Idhan also added that in addition to providing financing, IIF can also provide assistance through advisory services to EBT project developers, starting from the planning stage to operations that will improve the feasibility and success of the project.
