Pecalang Asks GRIB Jaya Ormas To Be Rejected To Enter Bali
DENPASAR - A number of Balinese, including pecalang, rejected the presence of the United Indonesia Movement (GRIB) Jaya on the Island of the Gods because it was considered disturbing. The mass organization made by the Hercules gangster Rosario Marshal was considered synonymous with thuggery.
Senator from Bali Ni Luh Djelantik through his Instagram account said Bali already has pecalang or traditional police to help maintain regional security stability, so there is no need for mass organizations from outside.
Wayan Darmaya, chairman of Pecalang, Traditional Village, Sulanyah, Seririt District, Buleleng Regency sent an open letter to Bali Governor I Wayan Koster to reject mass organizations from entering Bali, Sunday, May 4.
An open letter regarding the rejection of GRIB Jaya to Bali from Pecalang was also addressed to Bendesa Agung MDA Bali and Manggala Agung Pasikian (Unity) Pecalang, Bali Province.
The open letter contains the concerns of the Balinese people, especially pecalang, regarding the presence of foreign mass organizations that are suspected of Pergub Number 4 of 2019 concerning Traditional Villages.
"Indigenous institutions have their own middle-aged and pecalang system under Baga Pawongan which has an important function and role to play in maintaining the security of Bali's wewidangan (regions)," he wrote.
This means that with the pecalang, Bali has been able to maintain regional security stability.
