Putin Calls Not Nuclear Use In Military Operations In Ukraine

JAKARTA - Russian President Vladimir Putin said he did not use nuclear weapons in his military operations in Ukraine. He hopes that the use of nuclear weapons will never be necessary.

"There is no need to use the weapons you just mentioned [nuclear weapons]. And I hope that's not necessary," Putin said during an interview with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin in Moscow, citing ANTARA on Sunday, May 4.

In the interview, Putin also revealed that Russia was calm during military operations in Ukraine. He said there were attempts to provoke Moscow and hoped they would make a mistake.

"We have enough power and resources to bring what we start in 2022 to a logical conclusion with the results Russia needs," he said.

The Russian-Ukraine war was first sparked in 2014 after Ukraine's Dignity Revolution. But in 2022 tensions between the two countries have been scaled up until now.

The Ukrainian side has also tried to ask Donald Trump for military assistance, but it has yielded no positive results. Now Ukraine has to face military operations from Russia with the power it has.
