Sunday Afternoon, Prabowo Inaugurates Special Hajj And Umrah Terminals At Soetta Airport
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to inaugurate the Hajj and Umrah Special Terminal at Terminal 2F of Soekarno Hatta International Airport (Soetta), Tangerang, Banten, on Sunday 4 May afternoon at 14.15 WIB.
Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana, quoted by ANTARA, explained that the President would also release the departure of Indonesian pilgrims and review the facilities at the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminals.
"This inauguration is a form of the government's commitment to improve and provide the best service quality for pilgrims and Umrah," said Yusuf Permana.
At the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal, Indonesian pilgrims will use a separate route called Makkah Route to queue at Saudi Arabian Immigration counters at Soekarno Hatta International Airport.
A total of 10 immigration counters were specially prepared to serve Indonesian pilgrims who went to the holy land. At the Saudi Arabian Immigration counter, the pilgrims immediately received a stamp from the Saudi Arabian authorities so that upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, the pilgrims would no longer queue at the Immigration counter.
General Manager of InJourney Airports Soetta Airport Branch Office Dwi Ananda Wicaksana last month said that as of May 1, 2025, the Hajj and Umrah 2F special terminals were sterile areas. This means that only prospective pilgrims and officers are allowed to enter the Hajj and Umrah Special Terminals.
"The position of the congregation departing from the dormitory is already sterile, so later we will condition it into a sterile area, because they are already in X-ray, the Indonesian Immigration stamp has been stamped," said Dwi.
The first batch of Indonesian pilgrims from Jakarta departed from Terminal 2F of Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Friday morning (2/5). A total of 393 prospective pilgrims departed from Soetta to Medina, Saudi Arabia. All of them are members of the Jakarta-Pondok Gede Embarkation.
Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion Jakarta in Jakarta, Thursday (1/5), Adib said that the number of hajj candidates in this first batch was 393 people consisting of 171 men and 222 women.
