Komdigi Targets PDN 1 Operational Trial In June

JAKARTA The government targets the trial of the National Data Center (PDN 1) in June 2025. This operational target is made so that the Government can accelerate the digital transformation process in the country.

According to the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), Meutya Hafid, this trial is an important milestone because PDN will strengthen the foundation of the government's digital ecosystem. Therefore, Komdigi will partner to accelerate the trial of PDN 1.

"We are working with Bappenas and the relevant Ministries to ensure an integrated and sustainable system," said Meutya, during an audience with the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas on Friday, May 2, 2025.

"We are targeting operational trials in June (2025)."

The handover of PDN 1 was carried out in March 2025 and now the Government will enter the stage of security and operational assessment from the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN). After PDN 1 operates, Komdigi will start focusing on PDN 2 and PDN 3.

The government is indeed planning the construction of three National Data Centers to strengthen digital infrastructure.

This development is part of the President's eight Best Results Program (PHTC) and 17 national priority programs.

PDN 2 and PDN 3 are still being prepared with a co-sharing scheme. The construction of this data center is being discussed so that it can be realized more quickly. On the other hand, Komdigi is also trying to strengthen operational reserves so that this program runs effectively.

"Currently, the backup option still relies on the Temporary PDN (PDNS), but the budget is not yet available."

"If it is not budgeted immediately, there is a risk that the system runs without reserves, and that is not ideal," said Meutya.
