Rostec Ready To Increase Tank And Aircraft Production If Necessary

JAKARTA - Russian state-owned parent company Rostec said its subsidiaries are actively training new personnel and modernizing workshops to prepare for increased production of tanks, aircraft, and helicopters if Russia needs them.

In a meeting of the military industry commission late April, Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted last year that defense industry companies supply the military with more than 4,000 armored vehicles, as well as 180 fighter and helicopter aircraft.

"As much as 80 percent of all the equipment currently fighting on the front lines is produced by our factories. The production capacity of our defense factories is at an all-time high. If the country needs more tanks, aircraft, and helicopters, we are ready to produce it", Rostec said, quoted from TASS May 1.

"For this purpose, we train new personnel, modernize workshops, implement new technologies, and open new facilities. In essence, the defense industry has launched a second front, with each factory playing an important role on its own front lines," Rostec continued.

Since the start of special military operations in Ukraine and increased national defense orders, many Rostec defense companies have switched to multi-shift operations around the clock.

"We provide almost the entire spectrum of modern weapons needed on the front lines every day to the army," the company added.

Rostec shows significant growth in all major weapons categories. Production and repair of tanks and light armored vehicles have increased several times since the start of the operation.

In addition, production of ammunition for tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, artillery, MLRS, and heavy fire-prone systems have soared several
