InJourney Airports Prepare 18 Airports To Serve 2025 Hajj Pilgrims Travel

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) ensures that 18 airports are ready to support the success of organizing the 2025 Hajj flight. Preparations have also been made in terms of operations and services.

President Director of InJourney Airports Faik Fahmi said as many as 13 airports were designated as hajj embarkations or departure points for pilgrims from Indonesia directly to Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, continued Faik, 5 InJourney Airports were designated as Hajj embarkations between or where the pilgrims departed from their hometowns to the Hajj embarkation airport.

The five InJourney Airports that are intermediate Hajj embarrations are Radin Inten II Lampung, Fatmawati Soekarno Bengkulu, Sultan Thaha Jambi, Depati Amir Pangkalpinang and Pattimura Ambon.

Starting May 2, 2025, 13 InJourney Airports which are Hajj embarkations are ready to serve the departure of 204,882 pilgrims who are members of 435 groups. From the operational side, it is certain that the Hajj flight time slot is arranged, and on the service side it is ensured that the availability of facilities and the departure flow of the pilgrims is carried out," he said in an official statement, Friday, May 2.

Faik also said that he had coordinated with all relevant parties to ensure that the implementation of the 2025 Hajj flight went well.

"We also ask for support and prayers from the entire community so that the departure of the pilgrims to the holy land through the embarkation airport can run well," said Faik.

Based on the coordination of stakeholders, it was determined that pilgrims who left for the holy land through 10 embarkation airports would undergo immigration, customs, quarantine, as well as security checks at the Hajj dormitory, namely pilgrims departing through Tangerang Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Juanda Surabaya, Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar, Kualanamu Deli Serdang, SAMS Sepinggan Balikpapan, Hang Nadim Batam, Zainuddin Abdul Majid Lombok, Adisumarmo Solo, Syamsuddin Noor Banjarmasin and Kertajati Majalengka.

Meanwhile, pilgrims through three embarkation airports undergo immigration, quarantine, as well as cabin luggage security checks in Hajj dormitories, and customs processes at airports, namely pilgrims departing from Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, Aceh, Minangkabau Padang and Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Palembang.

"In the Hajj dormitory, InJourney Airports has alerted aviation security personnel as well as x-ray machines and handheld metal detectors (HHMD) for security checks before the pilgrims go to thembarkation airport," said Faik.

In addition, Faik said Soekarno-Hatta Airport in the implementation of this year's Hajj transportation serves the departure of 51,227 pilgrims who are members of 123 groups. As an effort to improve services, InJourney Airports prepares a special terminal for Hajj pilgrims at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

InJourney Airports has prepared a large and revitalized Terminal 2F, and is equipped with various facilities, to serve the departure and arrival of pilgrims. With this special terminal, services to pilgrims at Soekarno-Hatta Airport will be better than before," he said.

This special terminal is equipped with facilities to support congregational travel, including a waiting area with a capacity of up to 2,000 people, immigration facilities (immigration counters, autogates), 7 boarding lounges, and a mosque covering an area of 3,000 square meters and an ablution area of 2,025 square meters.

Faik also said that this terminal is also equipped with other facilities, Makkah Route, which is Saudi Arabia's immigration process which should be carried out at the arrival airport (Saudi Arabia) to become at the departure airport (Indonesia).

Other airports that also provide Makkah Route facilities are Adisumarmo Solo which serves 33,806 pilgrims in 94 groups, and Juanda Surabaya with 36,809 Hajj pilgrims with 97 groups.

"InJourney Airports fully supports the Ministry of Religion and other relevant agencies in presenting Makkah Route facilities at the three airports. This facility makes it easier for pilgrims to arrive in Saudi Arabia," concluded Faik.
