Prabowo: Thank You Guru All Over Indonesia

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto expressed his gratitude to all teachers and educators in Indonesia for their dedication and struggle to educate the nation's children.

Therefore, the President also emphasized his commitment to continue to prioritize educational problems, including improving the welfare and quality of all educators in the country.

"Thank you teachers throughout Indonesia. Seriously, these teachers are indeed heroes who often do not have a service certificate," said President Prabowo during the commemoration of National Education Day (Hardiknas) at the Bogor Palace, Bogor City, West Java, Friday, May 2.

In Indonesia, National Education Day is celebrated every May 2 to coincide with the birthday of Ki Hajar Dewantara, a national hero who is also known as the Father of National Education.

"Thank you teachers. Good luck, and I will continue to monitor this educational issue. I think if you are asked every invitation to school, every invitation to the campus, every invitation to educational institutions, I prioritize every invitation to deal with education," said the President at the end of his speech.

The President, in the same speech, also emphasized the importance of education for the rise of the nation. This is because education is the key to the progress of the nation.

The President again emphasized that education always gets the largest portion in the APBN. However, the President invited all parties to ask again whether the big budget for education was right on target.

The reason is that the President continued that there are still many schools whose buildings are damaged and unfit. In addition, it also highlighted one school building that only has one toilet.

The President emphasized that the improvement of damaged schools would continue to be a priority.

The President also reminded regional heads to come down to check and pay attention to the condition of schools in their areas whose buildings are damaged and unfit.

"Perhaps now we can only get 11,000 schools (improved), then we will add to those improvements," continued the President.

At the Bogor Palace, the 2025 Hardiknas commemoration was attended by representatives of teachers and representatives of students from various schools, as well as a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, including Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti, Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Angga Raka Prabowo, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
