Police Arrest Prisoners Who Become Dealers In Palangka Raya Detention Center, 24 Packages Of Methamphetamine Confiscated

PALANGKA RAYA - The Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Palangka Raya Police, Central Kalimantan, arrested a prisoner with the initials F (39) who kept 24 packages of methamphetamine in the Palangka Raya Class IIA Detention Center.

"This disclosure began with a report by Class IIA Palangka Raya detention officers regarding the presence of an inmate who was caught keeping a package suspected of being a narcotic type of methamphetamine," said Palangka Raya Police Chief Kombes Dedy Supriadi as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 2.

The officers followed up on the report until they finally arrested the alleged perpetrator at the Class IIA Rutan in Palangka Raya City, Jalan Tjilik Riwut kilometer 2.5.

The disclosure of the case began when officers from the Class IIA Detention Center conducted a raid at around 12.00 WIB in the inmates' cell rooms.

"Then the officers found dozens of packages suspected of being methamphetamine from the cell room of the alleged perpetrator F and immediately coordinated with the Palangka Raya Police," he said.

From the cell room of the alleged perpetrator, officers secured 24 packages of evidence suspected of being methamphetamine weighing a total of 15.31 grams.

The 24 packages of methamphetamine were successfully secured by officers from the suspect's left trouser pocket during the examination.

"Currently, the suspect and the evidence have been brought to the Palangka Raya Police Narcotics Headquarters for safekeeping and handling according to applicable legal procedures," he said.

Agung revealed that his party had also reconstructed the incident to collect the complete chronology of the disclosure of the case.

The perpetrator was charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) Sub-Article 112 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

"We thank the Class IIA Palangka Raya Detention Center officers who have swiftly reported this crime. We are committed to eradicating drug networks to their roots," said Agung.
