Smooth City Government Project To Family Company, DPRD Staff In Malaysia Threatened With 20 Years In Prison
JAKARTA - A City DPRD staff or the Dungun City Council (MPD) named Mohammad Hanif Ahmad, 41, is suspected of having nepotism in the tender for the Dungun District Government project, Malaysia.
Ahmad is accused of providing benefits to his family-owned company in order to win four tenders for the cleaning project whose budget is absorbed from the Dungun District Government.

Ahmad recommended three companies owned by his father, brother, and a colleague, to obtain a contract worth nearly RM5 million in a two-year public cleaning project.

The indictment trial against Ahmad, who is also a member of the Tender Secretariat (Supply and Service) of the MPD Financial Committee, took place on Wednesday, April 30. However, the defendant dismissed all the accusations addressed to him.
If found guilty, the defendant Ahmad faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of no less than five times the value of bribery or RM10,000 based on Article 24 (1) of the Law on the Anti-Corruption Commission of Malaysia (MACC) 2009
However, the Malaysian Court allowed the defendant to pay a guarantee of RM18,000 on the condition of one guarantor, submit passports and not disturb witnesses.
